Thought for Lent
In Lent, many Christians commit to giving up certain items such as chocolate, cakes and biscuits in order to replicate the account of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ's journey into the desert for 40 days. This year, why not do something positive for God's world such as reducing meat consumption by having a vegetarian day each week and being aware of how far our food has travelled. Examples would be dwarf beans from Kenya and apples from New Zealand. A reduction in the amount of plastic packaged items we buy would also help cut the amount of plastic waste we generate
Meet in the church centre twice monthly. (on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month) from 10-12 noon and all are welcome. They next meet on Thursday 12th March 2020.

Dmitry is happy to help folk study the Gospel of John on a one to one basis (or as a family or in two’s and three’s).If this is something you would be interested in or indeed know a bit more about it, please have a word with him.
Recycle the Story
Do you have novels which are now unloved and are in need of a new home? Would you like to read different novels. If your answers are yes, we can create St Mary’s ‘Lending Library’. Please bring in your books to church and once the books are sorted the library will be open. More information to follow. Your donations will be appreciated. Thank You. Jean Hudson
Parking at the Red Lion
Members of St Mary’s are allowed to park free at the Red Lion for Church events. If you do this you must go into the bar before you leave and enter your registration number into the tablet designed for the process. If the pub is closed you will need to pay for your parking at the machine before you leave. The pub have been happy to cancel any parking tickets in the past but now have to pay £7 to cancel any ticket, so ask that if they are closed you pay the parking. This is very unlikely to happen on a Sunday but could possibly happen during the week.
