Palm Crosses

As we draw nearer to the beginning of Lent, please could you bring in any Palm Crosses you have at home from previous years in preparation of us burning them to produce the Ash for Ash Wednesday (26th February).

Annual Parochial Church Meeting

It’s that time of year again! This year our Annual Parochial Church Meetings (AGM) are to be held on Sunday 29th March after our 10am service. Various things need to happen before then though. Please look out for the Electoral Roll (membership) revision in February. If you are not on our electoral roll and worship with us regularly you should be! Forms will be available in a couple of weeks. If you normally write a report for the Annual Meeting papers please be thinking about it. We will need reports by Sunday 1stMarch at the latest! Also please consider standing for PCC.PCC meets 5 or 6 times a year and is responsible for the day to day running of St. Mary’s.

Junior Church

We are very fortunate at St. Mary’s to have so many young people and also the leaders to help. However if anybody else would be prepared to join the team of leaders so that we only call upon people once a month it would be helpful if you would speak either to Dmitry or Malcolm. You will need to be prepared to provide us with a reference (for relatively new procedures introduced by the Diocese) and also be happy to undertake some safeguarding training.

Food Bank

Whilst people are generous in the lead up to Christmas the level of donations tends to fall in January and February so these can be bleak months for families. If you can give, items such as tinned meat, tinned fish, rice, rice pudding or tinned fruit will be welcomed although other items will be gratefully received. There is a box in the church centre for donations.

Skittles Night

If you would like to join members of Walsgrave Baptist Church at a Skittles Night on Friday 21st February 2020 at Wolvey Bowling Club 7pm please contact Pete Gales at petegales1954@gmail.com to book your place. Tickets are £6 for fish + chips/chicken + chips/or veggie alternative.
