Claire McArthur

Today is Claire's last Sunday with us after 3 years as she leaves to take up her post as Rector of Stoke St Michael's. She will be greatly missed but we wish her well and we are marking the occasion by coffee and cupcakes after the service, so please do stay for this celebration and farewell. Her induction at Stoke St Michael's is on the 8th July at 7.30pm to which we are all invited, so please come along to show support and appreciation for her ministry with us. Please sign the list in the foyer if you are planning on attending her induction.

Thank you so much for all the donations which helped us do amazing work in Zimbabwe following Cyclone Idai. I raised £2,824.19 and am still receiving donations, we are extremely lucky and thankful. It was an emotional but rewarding 10 days and we met some most amazingly wonderful task oriented and caring people and organisations. We worked with local people and large charities (Save the Children, UNICEF, Feed the Future etc) and had to tackle and navigate discussions with government forces and other aid agencies to ensure aid was delivered directly to those in need.We provided:

*clothing, food, supplies, equipment to the local mountain guides team, ourmobilised build team, schools, foster mothers, families who lost the bread winner / parents.

*medicines, medical equipment to schools, hospitals in Chimanimani and Harare and to the boarding hostel housing homeless people

*school fees and uniforms to children orphaned or children who lost their bread winner family member from the cyclone

*set up the Blessed Fund business set up for families to provide long term independence, chicken breeding, egg selling, market stalls and bees

*house building with building materials etc mobilised a build team of 17 men to build houses in some of the worst affected areas.
