Congratulations to Sue and John Morton who celebrated their Golden Wedding on Friday. Love and best wishes to them both.
Easter Greetings to all our friends here at St Mary’s. Thank you for your love and prayerful support during Colin’s recent operation. His recovery will be slow so we would appreciate continuing prayer including patience - for both of us! God bless. Barbara and Colin
After 19 years as a licensed Reader, Sue Morton has decided to stand back from the up front role of Reader. This means she will no longer help lead Sunday services and preach but she will be as much in evidence on Sundays, leading intercessions and reading lessons. She will also continue with visiting and taking communion to some people around the parish. We are very much indebted to Sue who has served St Mary’s faithfully over the years. Her last appearance ‘up front’ will be today at the 10am service.
The Coffee Club will meet again on Wednesday 1st May.Price£1.Tea or Coffee. All welcome. After a good number of years, Gwen Brown has decided to stand down. We shall continue to have coffee after Church on Wednesdays, though this may be a little less organised! Come along and you might even get cake from time to time!
Meet in the church centre twice monthly. (on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month). They meet from 10-12 noon and all are welcome. They next meet on Thursday 25th April 2019.
St Mary’s Luncheon Club
Do come along to St Mary’s Luncheon Club at 12 noon. For £4 you will receive an excellent meal. The next meal will be on Thurs 25th April. All welcome. Please let Claire or Malcolm know.
Our volunteers for Church Cleaning have dwindled a little and it would be good if a few, preferably younger folk, could help out. Currently we ask people to spend about 1 hour cleaning the Church and Centre 6 times a year. Our oldest volunteer still helps out in his 80’s!It would be considerate all round if we could lower the average age. Please speak to Malcolm if you feel able to help out and he will tell you what needs to be done.
Starlight Express - Albany Theatre
Book now to see some of Coventry’s most talented children. YOG will be performing between 8th-12th May with Callum McArthur taking the lead role of Rusty. Tickets can be booked on line.
Readers & Intercessors
It is always good to welcome new readers & intercessors to our list but this time we need a new person to organise the rota as Janet Home wishes to stand down. The rota comes out 4 times a year and help can be provided for new volunteers. Please speak to Malcolm or Barbara Hancox if you feel able to help.
