Newsletter - 5th July 2009

A warm welcome to you on this Fourth Sunday after Trinity. As we are at the Cathedral today there will be no 10am service. All ages are welcome at St. Mary’s, children included. There is also a crèche in the Octagon for the very young if you need it. If this is your first time with us, please do fill in the slip at the end of the newsletter, so that we can keep in touch with you. St Mary’s is fitted with a hearing loop system. Members of the congregation who have a hearing aid with a ‘T’ switch will find that they can hear better when it is switched to ‘T’.

Ordination of Stella Bailey - 5th July
Stella Bailey is to be ordained today at Coventry Cathedral, therefore there will be no service here at 10am. However, all are welcome at the Cathedral at 10.30 am to support Stella. There will be a celebration here at St Mary’s, following the ordination to which you are most welcome to come along to, even if only briefly, to join this party.

Bottles
Please start collecting bottles of wine or spirits for our Christmas Fayre. Our apologies that this appeal is early but we need at least 100 bottles. If you can help please bring them along to church and leave them in the office or notify Mel or Alison. Thankyou.

Please Support
An enterprise group from Richard Lee Primary School has designed a bag to sell to raise funds for Cancer Research. The children are trying to sell as many as possible - please help - Bags cost £2 each. They decided to support Cancer Research as a young teacher at the school is seriously ill with cancer at the moment. Thanks for your support. Nickie Harwood

Walsgrave Community Fete - 11th July
We will be having a stall at this Community Day to raise money for the Refurbishment Fund. Judith Pearsal is organising it and is looking for good quality Bric-a-Brac. If you can help with any items for this stall please give them to Judith or Mel. Also any offers of help with setting up and clearing away would be greatly appreciated particularly between 8-9 am and 4-5 pm. If you can help just turn up on the school playground. (Walsgrave School). Thankyou.

Thought for the Day
We should not seek the ideal community or church to belong to. It is a question of loving those whom God has set beside us today. They are signs of God. We might often have chosen different people, people who are more cheerful or more intelligent. But these are the ones God has given us and chosen for us to love. Jean Vanier
