Newsletter - 25th May 2008

A warm welcome to you on this 1st Sunday after Trinity. Please do join us after the service to share in a cup of tea or coffee. All ages are welcome at St. Mary’s, children included. There is also a crèche in the Octagon for the very young if you need it. If this is your first time with us, please do fill in the slip at the end of the newsletter, so that we can keep in touch with you. St Mary’s is fitted with a hearing loop system. Members of the congregation who have a hearing aid with a ‘T’ switch will find that they can hear better when it is switched to ‘T’.

Coffee Club
The next meeting of the Coffee Club will be on Wednesday May 28th. All welcome.

Coffee Rota
Thank you to Alistair Addie who has agreed to take on the coffee rota from Alan Robinson. It would be helpful if anyone willing to go on the rota (once every 6 or so weeks) would let Alistair, Barbara, John or Malcolm know of their willingness.

Licensing of Churchwardens
We would like to say a big thank you to all the people who came to the Service for the Admission of Churchwardens at Risen Christ on Monday evening. It was lovely to be so well supported and see so many friendly faces.
Thank you all, it was much appreciated. Barbara & John.

Thank you too from me as I also felt supported by such a large contingent from St Mary’s. Malcolm.

Coventry Walkathon 2008
A fortnight ago I took part in the Walkathon organised by Coventry Leofric Lions and walked 11 miles in aid of our Refurbishment Fund. If you haven’t already done so and would like to sponsor me (after the event rather than before, I know) I would be delighted. Please see me after the service.

Jars!
Whilst I hate to think about the Christmas Fayre before the holiday season starts, it is the time of year when I must make my usual request for jars!‘ So, can you please let me have jars of various sizes suitable for jam and pickled onions Thank you very much. Jean Hudson

10 mile walk for Breast Cancer Care

Cathedral Liaison Officers
We do not have a Cathedral Liaison Officer at the moment. The role is to keep the Cathedral in touch with what is going on in parishes and us in touch with what is happening at the Cathedral.
