Newsletter - 5th August 2007

A warm welcome to you on this Ninth Sunday after Trinity. Please do join us after the service to share in a cup of tea or coffee. All ages are welcome at St. Mary’s, children included. There is also a crèche in the Octagon for the very young if you need it. If this is your first time with us, please do fill in the slip at the end of the newsletter, so that we can keep in touch with you. St Mary’s is fitted with a hearing loop system. Members of the congregation who have a hearing aid with a ‘T’ switch will find that they can hear better when it is switched to ‘T’.

David Robinson
Today we say ‘au revoir’ to David Robinson who has taken our 8 o’clock service on the first Sunday of each month for several years now. We wish him and his wife Diana well in their new work at St Mary Magdalen Hearsall Lane. David is to be licensed on 10th September at 7.30 pm and you are very welcome to attend.

Working as a Lay Visitor in Hospital
Are you interested in the role of being a Lay Visitor at either Walsgrave or St Cross hospitals? Both Hospitals are recruiting members to join their Hospital Lay teams. Lay Visitors support the Chaplaincy team. It is a also a very responsible role, bringing you into close contact with people at very vulnerable times in their lives.
Training is given but in the first instance you need to speak to Malcolm if you are interested or require more information as names have to be recommended through him.
